Victor Nieuwenhuijs studied Politics at the University of Amsterdam, then painting and photography at Ateliers ‘63 in Haarlem, the Netherlands and film at the Free Academy in the Hague with well-known experimental filmmaker Frans Zwartjes.
Maartje Seyferth studied acting and directing at the Theaterschools of Antwerp and Amsterdam. She played mostly in avant-garde and trendsetting plays. She also had roles in well-known Dutch films, like “Turkish Delight” (dir. Paul Verhoeven), “Pastorale” (dir. Wim Verstappen), “The Master and the Giant” (dir. Johan van der Keuken), “Silence” (dir. Willeke van Ammelrooij). She also studied painting at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She had several exhibitions with her paintings, drawings and small bronze sculptures.
In 1986 they founded together MOSKITO FILM.
After a series of documentaries and shorts they made several feature films:
- VENUS IN FURS (1994)
- LULU (2005)
- CREPUSCULE (2008).
They are now shooting their new feature "MEAT", to be released in 2009.
